- “UNIVERSAL” DOUBLE ARM KNEADING MACHINE commonly referred to as SIGMA MIXER consists of two counter rotating tangential rotors in specially shaped trough curved at the bottom to form two longitudinal half cylinders with sufficient overboard volume.
- The main trough is of fully welded construction. The rotors are taper bored and key-fitted onto stub shafts working on anti-friction bearings. The shaft sealing is achieved by PTFE Chevron Rings.
- The counter rotating Tangential Sigma Blades have a good mixing action, greater wiped heat transfer area per unit volume and minimum riding of material on the blades, ensuring optimum kneading.
- In the conventional model, a single motor coupled with gearbox drives the front blade which transmits part of the power through gear trains to make the rear bade rotate.
- Prism Sigma Mixers have Dual Drive System where two SIGMA configured blades are independently driven, with separate motors and gearboxes. Hence they are more energy efficient, vibration free and have reduced noise level apart from avoiding the external use of lubricant oil/ grease, thus eliminating possibilities of product contamination.
- The unit is provided with power assisted Hydraulic Tilting Device for easy and total discharge of material.
- Unlike conventional models, the ‘Sigma’ configured blades are independently driven with separate motors and gearboxes of selected ratios resulting in an amazing efficiency range of 95% to 98%.
- Elimination of Transmission Gears, has reduced the noise levels to 60 to 65 decibels, which is far below the industrial standards.
- Dual Drive delivers the required power to each shaft, independent of the other. This, coupled with well tested, strong Sigma configured blades has made the mixing efficiency, of this version the ‘best in its class’.

- Different products, different recipes, often require different speed ratios between the front and rear blades which is possible to achieve in our Dual Drive System. In addition to different actual speeds of the blades, separate speed control can be provided for the motors.
- Smooth transmission of input power, stepless increase to achieve final speeds in pre-set time in the VFD ensures that shock loads are absorbed very smoothly.
- The right angle gearbox utilizes vertical space, resulting in saving of floor space by more than 25%.
